Perry rumor mill grinds on
Long before Edwards arrived at the rally last night (more on that later), Texas Democratic Party Chair, Charles Soechting and one other elected official whose name escapes me made reference to “big things going on in Austin” that are going to make Democrats very happy. Soechting, in particular, would not elaborate on what the “big thing” was. At one point he asked those who know what is going on to raise their hands, then he told people to ask those with their hands up what was going on. Finally he said that a group of people went to Austin to tell Perry that if he would “come out” and talk they would support him. It was more than obvious what he was talking about.
I think that may be the first time I have seen any TX Dem party official comment on this matter. I’m not sure that the newly-selected head of the party would put his credibility on the line and mention it if ithere was not some truth to it. I am now convinced that the whole “Perry caught with a man” thing is true.
Personally, I don’t think the Democrats should make too much hay over it other than to point out Perry’s hypocrisy. I have to admit, however, when this storm does hit ,it is going to be interesting to watch.
